Substances introduced into the composition of polymer materials, namely petroleum jelly and paraffin, make rubber elastic and frost-resistant. Antioxidants prevent rubber from oxidizing, making the rubber less brittle and slowing down the formation of gaps in the ring. Substances such as paraffin, wax, aldol are used as antioxidants. It is also worth noting that pigments - ocher and ultramarine - perform an aesthetic function, delay aging, and can also allow the light spectrum to be absorbed.
