First, a steel circle is obtained by hot rolling — the metal is passed through rollers at a temperature of about 1100–1200°C, forming a round rod. This workpiece has a rough surface and dimensional deviations. Before further processing, the workpiece is cleaned of scale — by etching or abrasive treatment. The workpiece is pulled through calibrating dies (drawing dies) or processed on rolling mills in a cold state. This gives a precise shape, a smooth surface and increases strength due to hardening of the metal. To relieve internal stress after deformation, the circle can be annealed — heated to 600–700°C followed by cooling. The calibrated circle is checked according to GOST or TU, after which it is cut to measured lengths, marked and packaged.

Chemical composition

The chemical composition of a steel circle depends on the grade of steel it is made of. Most often, steels according to GOST are used, such as St3, 10, 20, 45, 40X, SHKh15, and others.

It is widely used in mechanical engineering, construction, metalworking and other industries due to its high precision, high-quality surface and strength. It is used in the production of precision units, where the accuracy of geometry and surface purity are important. It is also used as an element of connecting structures, frames and supports.
