Steel hexagon calibrated 65 st. 45 - this is a hot-rolled metal product in the form of rods with a hexagonal cross section.

Steel hexagons are distinguished by purpose, depending on the steel grade or on the mass fraction of chromium, nickel and copper; according to the method of further processing: hexagons made by pressure, cold drawing or cold machining; according to the manufacturing method: hot-rolled hexagons and calibrated hexagons.

Hot-rolled steel hexagon is produced in accordance with GOST 2879-88 by hot rolling on section mills. The basis for the production of a steel hexagon is a cast billet of square section.

The size of a hot-rolled hexagon is determined by the diameter of the circle inscribed in it and lies within 8–100 mm inclusive.

In terms of rolling accuracy, hot-rolled hexagon is produced in two types - increased (B) and ordinary (C) accuracy.

Calibration is also used, which allows to produce a hexagon calibrated with high dimensional accuracy.

In the production of a hexagon, a calibrated steel billet is pressed between hexagonal rolling rolls. The calibrated steel hexagon has a cross section from 3 to 100 mm in size and is produced in accordance with GOST 8560-78.
