Expanded metal flooring SERRATED–480/75 (75x480x3000) cold rolled 08kp - is a metal sheet subjected to mechanical stretching and punching, resulting in a rigid lattice structure. Thanks to this technology, it combines high strength and low weight, which makes it popular in the energy, construction and industry sectors. It is used to construct decks, work platforms, fences, walkways and stair steps, providing free drainage of moisture and good adhesion of shoes. The material is made of carbon steel, often galvanized to protect against corrosion, which ensures a long service life of the structure even in aggressive conditions of use.

It is manufactured using an industrial method of cold processing sheet metal. The main stages of production: A steel sheet (usually low-carbon steel) is used, which can have a zinc or polymer coating to protect against corrosion. The sheet is fed into a special press, where punches punch rows of elongated holes in it. These holes are made at a certain pitch to ensure the optimal combination of strength and lightweight construction. Simultaneously with punching or after it, the sheet is stretched and formed, forming a cellular structure. This increases rigidity and reduces the weight of the decking. The finished PPN is cut into panels of the required size. Quality control is carried out, and sometimes a protective coating is additionally applied.

Chemical composition

The chemical composition of expanded metal sheeting depends on the grade of steel it is made of. Most often, ordinary carbon steel is used (grades such as St0, St1, St3), and less often, low-alloy options.

Expanded metal sheeting is used for the construction of: stair steps and ramps, bridges and walkways, scaffolding and platform decking, floors, temporary decking, work platforms, decking at chemical and oil and gas industry facilities, for creating equipment maintenance platforms and pedestrian walkways on roofs.
