Hot rolled Almost all types of reinforcement with a smooth and periodic profile with a diameter of 6...40 mm are produced by hot rolling mills. In the production flow, the steel billet is heated, passes through a descaling machine and a series of stands with profiled (calibrated) rolls. As a result, it acquires a characteristic ribbed or smooth shape. The material can be strengthened by thermomechanical rolling or cold working by pressing and drawing. Cold-rolled and cold-drawn Reinforcing bars with a diameter of 4-8 mm with high precision profile execution can be obtained by cold forming. In this case, the semi-finished product - wire rod - is unwound and, without heating, enters the cold rolling mill line, where, after removing scale, it is subjected to deformation by profiled rolls. After rolling, the reinforcement is wound on special drums into coils or cut into measured lengths.
