Steel sheet (strip) Art. 5ХНМ 16 * 500 * 1910mm - this material is a tool stamping steel. There are 5 Russian analogues for this alloy: 4ХМФС, 4Х5В2ФС, 5ХГМ, 5ХНВ, 5ХНВС. Products in the production of which this alloy is involved are actively used in modern industry and production organization. In these areas, they are presented in the form:

dies for high-speed machine stamping during hot deformation of light non-ferrous metals,

blocks of dies for inserts of horizontal forging machines,

large press dies,

hammer dies for air-steam and pneumatic hammers.

Like many other steels, this alloy is thoroughly heat treated. During which it is subjected to oil quenching at a temperature of 850oC above 0oC, and further tempering at temperatures from + 460oC to + 520oC.

The initial forging temperature of this metal is + 1240oC, the final temperature is + 750oC. Parts with a cross section of up to 100 mm are air cooled, with a cross section from 101 mm to 350 mm they are lowered into special pits.

This metal is one of the few that is not used for welded structures. The machinability is available in the annealed condition with a Brinell hardness of 286 and a ultimate tensile strength of 900 MPa.

Steel 5ХНМ does not have a tendency to temper brittleness, but at the same time it is flake-sensitive. In other words, it is susceptible to the appearance of small internal cracks over time, resulting from the pressure acting on the part during operation.
