Hydrogen peroxide 60 % med. - is a colorless liquid with oxidizing and antiseptic properties. In medicine, it is used as a disinfectant for treating wounds, due to its ability to stop bleeding and destroy bacteria. It is also used in everyday life to clean surfaces, bleach and eliminate odors. In industry, it is used as a component for chemical reactions and bleach. Solutions above 3% require caution: they can cause irritation of the mucous membrane and skin burns.

First, the anthraquinone derivative undergoes hydrogenation in the presence of a catalyst, turning into hydroanthraquinone. Then the resulting hydroanthraquinone is oxidized with atmospheric oxygen. In this case, hydrogen peroxide is released, and the anthraquinone itself is restored and can be reused. Hydrogen peroxide is extracted from the organic phase into the aqueous phase. The resulting H₂O₂ solution is purified and, if necessary, concentrated to the desired concentration (usually 30–70%).
