It is a monofunctional strong acid ion exchange resin with a gel structure, a high molecular weight polymer substance. Copolymer of styrene and divinylbenzene. It contains one kind of fixed ions - sulfo groups attached to aromatic rings. The main characteristic of cation exchangers is the presence of acid groups in the composition, the hydrogen of which can be exchanged for metal ions present in the solution.

Differs in mechanical durability, osmotic stability and high chemical resistance to influence of alkalis, acids, oxidizers. Insoluble in water and organic solvents. Non-fusible, non-flammable, non-explosive, non-toxic, does not contain radioactive and ozone-containing substances. Resistant to high (110-120°C) temperatures. Its exchange capacity depends little on the pH of the medium.
