Basalt slab BVTM-PM 50х600x1250 mm is a durable and strong construction material created from natural basalt by melting and then molding. Basalt is first mined in quarries, then crushed and thoroughly purified to remove impurities. The prepared raw material is loaded into furnaces, where it is melted at approximately 1400–1500°C until a homogeneous molten mass is obtained. The melt is then fed to centrifuges or spinnerets, where it is drawn into fine basalt fibers. These fibers cool, settle on a conveyor, and form a fibrous mat. In the next step, a binder (usually based on inorganic or phenolic resins) is added to the fibers, after which the material is pressed to the desired density and thickness. The blanks are heat-treated in chambers, where the binder polymerizes, giving the slab strength and a stable shape. Finally, the slabs are cooled, cut to the specified dimensions, and tested for density, strength, thermal conductivity, and fire resistance.
Chemical composition
Based on super thin basalt fiber. The binder is bentonite clay with various types of resins: epoxy, epoxyphenol, phenol-formaldehyde. Melt of basalt group rocks, additionally stitched with roving threads.
Type by purpose
The main area of application is insulation and thermal insulation. The construction of residential buildings and structures, as well as industrial facilities, cannot be done without this material. Using basalt slabs and wool, thermal insulation of pipelines, plumbing and heating equipment is carried out. The same material is used to insulate indoor and outdoor surfaces: roofs, floors, walls, attics, basements. The insulation is used as the bottom and top layer of sound insulation in the floors of flat roofs. Basalt insulation is widely used in industrial construction and in the energy industry (thermal insulation of boilers and furnaces at power plants). Basalt slabs and mechanical engineering are not overlooked. In this industry, basalt insulation is used to insulate the chambers of furnaces, refrigerators, and automobile bodies.
