First, a mixture of alumina and silica (aluminosilicate) is melted in a furnace at approximately 1800–2000°C. The melt is blown or centrifuged, turning it into fine fiber. At this stage, binders and reinforcing components are added. The resulting fiber is evenly distributed on a conveyor, forming a loose mat of the desired density. The fiber layer is placed in a press, where it is shaped into a board and the desired thickness. The boards are then dried in a drying chamber: the binder polymerizes, giving the board rigidity and dimensional stability. The finished sheets are trimmed and tested for density, heat resistance, and absence of defects.

Chemical composition

The most common composition is: SiO₂ (silicon dioxide) - 45-55%, l₂O₃ (aluminum oxide) - 40-50%, Trace oxides (Fe₂O₃, CaO, MgO, TiO₂) - 1-5%.

Chemical industry: protection of equipment operating at high temperatures and in aggressive environments. Stoves and fireplaces in the domestic sector: insulation of fireboxes, doors, and combustion zones. Automotive and mechanical engineering: heat shields, thermal barrier panels. Aerospace: thermal protection of structural components.
