Fireproof cotton wool MKRR - 130 3500x600x20 mm is a thermal insulation material designed for use at high temperatures. It is made from ceramic or mineral fibers that are fire-resistant and highly heat-resistant. Due to its structure, refractory wool protects structures from overheating and effectively retains heat. The material is widely used in metallurgy, energy, industry, and construction for insulating heating equipment, furnaces, chimneys, and boilers. Refractory wool is durable, has good insulating properties, and is lightweight. It helps improve operational safety at various facilities and is easy to install.

The main thing
View by manufacturing method
Purified minerals or powders of aluminum and silicon oxides are used in production. They are mixed in the right proportions to produce a material that can withstand temperatures of 1000–1600°C. The mixture is loaded into a special electric or gas furnace and melted at approximately 1800–2000°C until it turns into a liquid mass. The melt is converted into fine fibers in two main ways: centrifugal, where the melt is fed onto rapidly rotating disks, which draw it into fibers; and blown, where a jet of melt is blown by a powerful stream of air or steam. The resulting fine fibers quickly cool, forming a lightweight fibrous mass similar to cotton. Binders are sometimes added or additional heat treatment is performed to increase the strength and stability of the material.
Chemical composition
Main components: Silicon dioxide (SiO₂) - approximately 45-60% and Aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃) - approximately 40-55%.
Type by purpose
Refractory wool is used for thermal insulation of metallurgical furnaces, smelting furnaces, and heat-treatment furnaces. It is also used to insulate steam boilers, heat exchangers, turbines, and power equipment. The material is used to insulate chimneys, stove pipes, and flues to reduce heat transfer to surrounding structures. Refractory wool is used for insulating casting molds, protecting equipment, and sealing furnaces. It is also used in glass furnaces and ceramic kilns. Refractory wool is also used in fire-resistant structures, such as insulating cable penetrations and protecting metal structures.
