Mullite-silica inserts MKRV-340 are made of refractory fiber of mullite-silica composition, which is produced by melting pure aluminum and silicon oxides in an electric furnace, followed by fiber formation by blowing. To impart strength to the material, an organic binder is added to the fibers, and the products are formed by vacuum pressing.

MKRV-340 inserts are used for thermal insulation of the head of ingots of round, square, rectangular and polyhedral sections. The products are designed for easy installation in molds or pouring molds, lucrative extensions, or fixed with glue and / or mechanical fasteners, staples. The installation takes into account possible linear or volumetric shrinkage during heating.
