Shaped mullite-silica products MKRV are made of materials using refractory fiber of mullite-silica composition, which is produced by melting aluminum and silicon oxides in an electric furnace, followed by fiber formation by the blowing method.
To impart strength to the material, inorganic and organic binders, refractory fillers and additives are added to the fibers. Products are molded by the methods of evacuation, vacuum pressing, vibration casting, stuffing and others.
Products of complex shape are made for long-term use in thermal insulation of equipment parts and for short-term use when casting metal melts according to individual technical requirements.
