The main thing
Material
Nickel-yttrium alloy is an alloy of nickel and yttrium
View by manufacturing method
The alloy is obtained by an aluminothermic method with an upper fuse from a charge consisting of chromium oxide, primary aluminum powder and molybdenum concentrate from hydrometallurgical production. Fluorspar and freshly burnt lime are used as fluxes. In order to reduce the content of non-ferrous metal impurities, the molybdenum concentrate is treated with a solution of ammonia and magnesium chloride before firing.

Y content: 11.5%
Type by purpose
Designed for introducing refractory elements or elements that differ greatly in density from the base of the alloy into liquid metal. Alloying with alloys gives more stable results when it is necessary to introduce small concentrations of alloying elements due to the ease of dosing or when introducing into the alloy elements that are easily oxidized or volatile at high temperatures. In ferrous metallurgy, alloys are distinguished from ferroalloys, which are used simultaneously for alloying and deoxidation. In jewelry, a ligature is added to a precious metal to bring the jewelry alloy to a certain standard, to change the color of the alloy, and also to give it various useful properties.
