Molybdenum is a soft, ductile, shiny, silvery-white transition metal.

First, the ore is mined to obtain molybdenum oxide, which is reduced with hydrogen to high-purity molybdenum metal powder. The powder is then pressed into blanks (ingots), which are then sintered in a vacuum or in a hydrogen atmosphere at a temperature of about 2000°C. This gives the material strength and density. After sintering, the blanks are hot rolled, gradually reducing the thickness. This makes the material more plastic and improves its structure. To achieve the desired thickness (up to several microns), alternating cold rolling and intermediate annealing are used to eliminate internal stresses and maintain plasticity. The foil is cut, straightened, cleaned of process impurities and packaged in accordance with requirements.

Foil serves as heat shields, conductive substrates and elements in microcircuits, especially in high temperature and vacuum conditions. It is used for heat protection, shields and shells resistant to extreme loads. It protects equipment from overheating in spacecraft and turbines. It is used as a lining for furnaces, heating elements and shields in vacuum metallurgy due to its high temperature resistance.
