Niobium drite NB-1 0,4 mm - is a high-tech material made of pure niobium with a content of the main element of at least 99.8%. Due to its high biocompatibility, heat resistance and corrosion resistance, such wire is widely used in medicine, aerospace and electronics industries. It is produced by drawing, in which a niobium ingot is pulled through dies to the required diameter. Annealing is done between stages, which gives strength and plasticity. It can also be used as a superconducting material and in vacuum systems.

The simple substance niobium is a shiny silver-gray transition metal with a body-centered cubic crystal lattice.

Metallic niobium is obtained from ore concentrates using a complex technology in three stages: opening the concentrate, separating niobium and tantalum and obtaining their pure chemical compounds, and reducing and refining metallic niobium and its alloys. The ingot is then hot forged or rolled to form a blank. After this, mechanical processing is carried out - cutting, leveling, grinding. The blank is pulled through a series of dies (forms), reducing the diameter. Between drawing stages, the metal is annealed (heated and slowly cooled) to relieve stress and increase plasticity. Wire of the required diameter is obtained - from millimeters to microns.
