When using Copper phosphorous anode, a protective phosphorus-containing layer is formed on the surface of the object that is being processed. It makes this surface resistant to various negative influences. The amount of phosphorus in the AMP copper anode can vary from 0.03 to 0.16%. It is distributed evenly over the volume of the metal. This reduces sludge formation and increases the processability. The AMF anode is used in the manufacture of particularly complex printed circuit boards.

Depending on the depth of occurrence, copper ore is mined using open or closed methods. 90% of primary copper is obtained by pyrometallurgical method, 10% by hydrometallurgical method. The hydrometallurgical method is the production of copper by dissolving it in a weak solution of sulfuric acid and subsequent separation of metallic (blister) copper from the solution. The pyrometallurgical method consists of several stages: enrichment, roasting, smelting for matte, purging in a converter, refining. To enrich copper ores, the flotation method is used (based on the use of different wettability of copper-containing particles and waste rock), which allows one to obtain copper concentrate containing from 10 to 35% copper.
