Tape 79NM 0.1-1.5 mm is a high temperature resistant alloyed carbon alloy. Its basis is a solid iron-nickel solution, which in its composition has more than 5% additives and belongs to structural steels intended for the production of mechanisms and various complex parts that perform work in rather aggressive conditions. This steel grade has a wide range of uses, for example, it is used to produce sheets for parts of high-temperature petrochemical plants. The long service life of products is limited by temperatures up to 850°C, above - scale formation actively occurs. Discs, fasteners, flat springs made of 79NM steel are also capable of operating at temperatures of about 650°C. Grade 79NM is difficult to weld. To fix the seams, a final heat treatment is required, coupled with annealing. Low-carbon steel grade 79NM can be carburized, i.e. enriched with carbon in order to increase hardness and wear resistance.
