Relit tape LS-3-11 7х3х670 mm - is an alloy of metals used to connect metal parts by soldering. The main purpose of solder is to provide reliable mechanical and electrical contact. Depending on the area of use, they come in different compositions and melting points: silver, tin-lead and lead-free. Lead-free solders are in demand in electronics due to environmental requirements. The quality of soldering depends not only on the solder, but also on the correct flux and temperature. Relit tape is typically made from graphite material that has undergone an exfoliation and pressing process. The graphite is heated to 800–1000°C. The layers "explode" and transform into a fluffy, lightweight, black material—exfoliated graphite. The expanded graphite is fed into a molding unit, where it is spread into an even layer, compacted by rollers or a press, and formed into a tape of the desired thickness. The tape passes through calenders several times, leveling its density and becoming more elastic and durable. The graphite tape is cut into tapes of the desired width. The tape is wound into coils, packaged into rolls, or spools.

Chemical composition

The main component is Carbon (C) — 95–99%. Some types of relit may contain: Anti-corrosion inhibitors (0.5–1%), metal oxides and salts — SiO₂, Fe₂O₃, Al₂O₃, CaO, MgO.

Type by purpose

Main applications: sealing pump and valve seals, replacing graphite packing, sealing flanges and joints, sealing furnace and boiler covers, hatches, and doors, sealing threaded connections, electrical and thermal engineering, and as a gasket material in the chemical and oil refining industries. Relit tape is used wherever reliable seals are needed at high temperatures, pressures, and in aggressive environments—from pumps and flanges to furnaces and chemical equipment.
