Aluminum powder PA-0 is obtained from molten aluminum or its waste by pulverization, followed by sieving into certain fractions, from primary aluminum not lower than grade A5.

The main areas of use of aluminum powder:

Mining industry. As high-energy additives, aluminum powders are included in some industrial explosives used in the mining industry: rock ammonites, ammonals, detonites, alumotol. The products significantly increase the heat of explosive transformation in explosives and their performance.

Ferrous metallurgy. Aluminum powders in ferrous metallurgy are used as a reducing agent. A small addition (in the amount of 0.1-1.5%) of the substance to the molten iron frees it completely from oxide, providing a dense metal casting without cavities. Aluminum powders are also used for heating the profitable part of a metal ingot in the process of casting ferrous metals.

Chemical industry. Aluminum granules and powders in the chemical industry are used for reducing purposes, as they instantly react in an alkaline or acidic environment, releasing hydrogen, which is the strongest reducing agent at the time of formation. Aluminum powders are widely used in the production of aluminum alkyds, in the production of the tetraethyl lead antiknock agent, and in the polymerization of ethyls.
