The resulting mass is formed into slabs using pressing or vibration pressing. After forming, the blanks are dried and fired at high temperatures (sintered) in furnaces. During the sintering process, the silicon carbide particles fuse together, forming a strong, monolithic structure. In the final stage, the slabs can be further ground, calibrated to size, and undergo quality control. The result is a material with high heat resistance, hardness, and wear resistance.
In industry, these boards are used in metallurgy and foundries for lining furnaces, hearths, heat shields, and work surfaces exposed to high temperatures. In the power industry, these boards are used in boiler units and heating units. In the chemical industry, silicon carbide boards are valued for their resistance to corrosion and exposure to acids, alkalis, and gases.
