First, the mineral filler (quartz sand, marble flour, aluminosilicate, etc.) is carefully dried and sieved. A binder—usually acrylic or polyester resin—is added. Pigments are added to the mixture to achieve the desired color, along with catalysts for curing. The finished mixture is then poured into a mold—usually a metal or silicone mold, sized to the desired sheet size. The mixture is left in the mold at a controlled temperature. Afterward, the finished sheet is carefully removed from the mold and cooled to room temperature to prevent warping. The slabs are then sanded and polished to the desired smoothness.

Chemical composition

Duroston is made from unsaturated polyester resin and fiberglass mat. It is a composite polymer-mineral material, a combination of an organic polymer matrix (resin) and inorganic fillers (minerals, pigments, additives).

Application options: - arc chutes - insulating busbar holders - high-voltage and low-voltage circuit breakers - distribution boards - panel mounting panels - electric vehicle switch panels - power electronics - phase barriers. Durostone is often used: in arc extinguishing chambers; as an insulating material for busbar holders; for arrangement of distribution boards; for isolating a block of low- and high-voltage switches.
