Fluoroplastic F-4, PTFE (Teflon), rod 18х500 mm is a material with high chemical resistance, low friction coefficient and high thermal stability (from –200 to +260°C). This material does not age, does not absorb moisture, and is resistant to solvents, alkalis and aggressive acids. Fluoroplastic is the general name for fluorine-containing plastics obtained by polymerization of tetrafluoroethylene. It is synthesized in the form of a white powder that easily forms lumps. For the production of fluoroplastic products, it is pressed and sintered at high temperatures in special ovens. Fluoroplastic can contain from one to four fluorine atoms, which is reflected in the name of its types (fluoroplastic Ф4, Ф3, Ф2, Ф1). Fluoroplastic is excellent for processing, it can be drilled, sanded, milled and turned. In this way, parts of any shape, size and complexity can be made from fluoroplastic. Based on fluoroplastic, various composites are produced by mixing it with coke, molybdenum disulfide, carbon fiber, glass fiber, boron nitride, cobalt blue, etc. in different proportions, which changes the characteristics of the material and finished products from it.

Fluoroplast-4, or Teflon, is actively used in mechanical engineering. Due to its resistance to friction and exposure to aggressive environments, oil seals, bearings, piston rings, boots, and car tires are made from polymer. Resistance to heat allows it to be used to produce parts for motors; in electrical and radio engineering. The material can be used as an insulator or a current conductor (by making modifications to its molecular structure). Printed circuit boards, cables, relay elements and switches are made from polytetrafluoroethylene; in light industry. Treatment of products with this polymer makes them waterproof; in the chemical industry. Teflon is used to produce laboratory glassware, including anti-corrosion tubes for chromatographs; in medicine. The use of fluoroplastic in the production of vascular and internal organ prostheses is due to the fact that it does not cause immunological reactions; in the food industry. Fluoroplastic is used in the production of frying pans and baking dishes with non-stick coating, syringes for creams, containers for perishable products, and dough rolling mechanisms.
