Fluoroplastic tape - is a non-sintered film of fluoroplast - 4D, a finely dispersed modification of polytetrafluoroethylene.
Designed to work with aggressive liquids and gases, with the exception of alkali metal solutions, chlorine trifluoride and elemental fluorine. The unique properties of fluoroplast make it possible to use this material as a sealing element.
The FUM tape is used for sealing threaded joints of pipelines made of all materials operating at temperatures from -60°C to +200°C and medium pressure up to 10 MPa, as well as for sealing systems with general industrial media and highly aggressive media. Does not allow re-consolidation, loosening-tightening. It is used as follows: it is wound against the course of the thread with an overlap (provides thickness), from the end of the pipe, the connection is tightened. If tightness is not ensured, tighten (do not loosen). If it doesn’t work out again - unwind, remove the tape, start over.
It is allowed to use tape for fittings operating at a pressure of 41.2 MPa.
With the help of the FUM tape, systems are compacted, both with concentrated and dilute solutions of acids and alkalis, systems with general industrial media and those operating on strong oxidizing agents.
