Getinax sheet 2020х1020х4,0 mm is a laminated plastic made from paper sheets glued together by hot pressing using a binder: phenolic or epoxy resin. The basis of the material is cellulose, that is, paper. It is impregnated with molten synthetic resin or with a solution (alcohol or water-alcohol) of resole resin. After the resin hardens, the sheets are pressed under pressure and dried at a high temperature - 150-160°C. Then they cool again - this also happens under pressure.
Foiled getinax is also made: for foiling, red-copper electrolytic foil is applied to it. Some brands of getinax are reinforced with a fine metal mesh, or they are covered with technical fabrics - cotton, fiberglass or asbestos.
