Polyacetal is a molecular weight polymerization product of formaldehyde. To obtain homopolymer and copolymer modifications of POM, the following technologies are used: Homopolymer - The main algorithm is the reaction of aqueous formaldehyde with alcohol, dehydrogenation of the aqueous hemiacetal mixture, release of formaldehyde by heating. Formaldehyde is then polymerized by anionic catalysis, and the resulting polymer is stabilized by reaction with acetic anhydride. Manufacturing - POM comes in granular form and can be formed into the desired shape by applying heat and pressure. The two most common molding methods are injection molding and extrusion. Rotational molding and blow molding are also possible.

Polyacetal is a technical thermoplastic, a product of formaldehyde polymerization with a molecular weight of 40-120 kDa. White crystalline powder. It is an anti-friction thermoplastic material, also called polyformaldehyde or polyoxymethylene.

Areas of application of Polyacetal: Mechanical engineering, precision instrumentation, food industry, automotive industry, electrical engineering, medical industry, textile industry, paper and packaging industries, household appliances, etc. It is a raw material in the production of parts for machine tools, machines, automobiles, spare parts for electrical equipment and light industry. POM-S is easy to process, the accuracy of the parts is up to 0.01 mm. Seals, instrument panels, parts of pulling mechanisms, and conveyor belt modules are made from polyacetal in the form of plates and sheets. Most often, the product is used in the production of electronics, automotive, paper, food, textile and mechanical engineering.
