Polypropylene pipe PN20 Ø50×8.4 is a type of plastic polymer pipes. Their main purpose is the laying of pipelines for cold water supply systems, hot water supply, underfloor heating systems, and heating systems. Polypropylene is resistant to aggressive environments: acid/alkaline/salt solutions, as well as other inorganic substances. It does not absorb liquid, retains its insulating properties over a wide range of temperatures.
Pipelines are assembled into a single system using fittings: couplings, transitions, angles, tees, etc. There are two types of connections: all-plastic, combined. All-plastic are joined by diffusion welding (not collapsible connection) using a special soldering iron. Combined connections allow you to make a transition from a polypropylene pipeline to a pipeline from another material, or connect the pipeline to plumbing fixtures.
"PN" is the maximum allowable working pressure at which the system can be operated at 20°C for a service life of 50 years.
Initially, pipes were classified according to wall thickness into categories of pressure values (pressure rows) designated "PN". Gradually, as the properties of polymeric materials improved, the PN classification no longer corresponded to the values that determine the properties of products, especially hot water distribution systems. Therefore, a new classification "S" and "SDR" was introduced.
PN 10 Designed for cold water.
PN 16 Designed for hot water and underfloor heating.
PN 20 Designed for hot water and heating systems.
PN 25 Reinforced with aluminium/fiberglass. Designed for hot water and heating systems.
