The rod is produced using an extrusion process. Polypropylene granules are loaded into an extruder, where they are heated to melting point and transformed into a homogeneous molten mass. This melt is then forced through a forming die, which gives the future rod the desired diameter and profile. After exiting the die, the rod is cooled in a water bath, stabilized, and cut into convenient coils or lengths. The finished material is tested for strength, uniformity, and color consistency to ensure a high-quality weld.

Polypropylene (PP) is a chemical compound classified as a synthetic polymer. It is a product of the polymerization of propylene and belongs to the class of polyolefins.

Type by purpose

Polypropylene rod is a specific product that is used for installation work with plastic pipes, fittings, HDPE-type samples and some other identical objects. PP rods are used as a filler material for any products made from sheet plastic. The important point is that the filler material itself and the sheets must be made of the same type of plastic. Otherwise there will be no reaction. Polypropylene rods are most often used for welding pipes made of the same material. Such blanks are indispensable in the production of septic tanks, various treatment facilities, as well as during the manufacture of swimming pools. Sometimes this filler material is used for welding plumbing pipes.
