Anti-slip rubber flooring is manufactured in several stages using natural or recycled rubber. First, rubber crumb is obtained by grinding raw rubber, most often from car tires. The crumb is then thoroughly cleaned and mixed with a polyurethane binder, pigments, and special additives that improve strength and anti-slip properties. The resulting mixture is evenly distributed into molds or applied to the substrate, after which it is compacted using pressing or rolling. Finally, the material undergoes heat treatment and polymerization, making the coating durable, flexible, and resistant to external influences.
Chemical composition
Most commonly used rubber crumb is made from synthetic rubber (SBR) or natural rubber, sometimes from recycled tires. Polyurethane adhesive is used as a binder, providing strength, elasticity, and wear resistance to the coating. Mineral or organic pigments are added for color. Plasticizers, stabilizers, antioxidants, and special additives may also be included.
