Profiled spiked membrane 400 Gidrostop PRO MAX (2 m x 20 m) modern multilayer material is used to protect products and structures from dirt, wind, and moisture while maintaining vapor permeability. It can wick away water vapor while preventing mold and condensation. This membrane fabric is highly elastic, durable, and resistant to temperature changes, chemicals, and UV radiation. It is widely used in construction for waterproofing, facades, and roofing, as well as in the creation of technical products, camping equipment, and workwear, where breathability and protection are essential.
The main thing
View by manufacturing method
The membrane is manufactured in stages using polymer technologies. Polymers such as polyethylene, polypropylene, or polyurethane are used as the base. First, a thin membrane film is formed using extrusion or casting. Micropores are then created in it through mechanical stretching, chemical treatment, or phase separation, making the material vapor-permeable yet waterproof. The membrane is then laminated with protective layers of non-woven fabric or textile to increase strength and wear resistance. Finally, the material is stabilized, heat-treated, and tested for water resistance, vapor permeability, and mechanical properties.
Chemical composition
The composition of the membrane depends on its intended use and production technology, but it is always based on synthetic polymers. The most common are polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP), used in construction membranes. More advanced materials use polyurethane (PU) or polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), which provide high vapor permeability and chemical resistance. The composition also includes functional additives: stabilizers, antioxidants, UV inhibitors, plasticizers, and flame retardants, which enhance the durability and safety of the material. Protective layers may contain non-woven fibers made of polyester or polypropylene, laminated to the membrane.
Type by purpose
It is used in various industries due to its combination of water resistance and vapor permeability. In construction, it is used for waterproofing and wind protection of roofs, facades, walls, and floors, as well as in the construction of insulated structures and attics. In road and landscaping construction, membrane fabric is used as a separating and protective layer. In the light industry, it is in demand for the production of workwear, sportswear, and camping equipment. Membrane materials are also used in medicine, filtration systems, and technical products where moisture protection while maintaining air exchange is required.
