Polyethylene product standards

Polyethylene Granule Standards:

GOST 16338-85 - Technical Specifications for Low-Density Polyethylene. This standard regulates: supply, production, labeling, quality control, packaging, testing methods, acceptance, granule requirements, polyethylene production methods, and areas of application.

GOST 16337-77 - Technical Specifications for High-Density Polyethylene. This standard establishes: areas of use, packaging, labeling, testing methods, technical characteristics, product grades, granule requirements, and production methods.

ISO 1872-1 - This standard establishes a designation and classification system for polyethylene materials for extrusion and injection molding. This standard defines: material purpose, processing method, polyethylene type, melt flow index, density, and labeling.

Standards for Polyethylene Grain Storage Bags:

ASTM D882 - Tensile Test Method for Thin Plastic Films. This standard is one of the primary international standards for evaluating the mechanical properties of polyethylene films used in the production of grain storage bags. It defines the modulus of elasticity, elongation at break, and tensile strength.

ASTM D1709 - Determination of the impact strength of plastic films by the drop weight method. This standard determines the ability of a film to withstand impact loads without failure. It establishes the test methodology and principles. This allows for the evaluation of the mechanical reliability of polyethylene grain storage bags.

ISO 527 - Determination of the tensile mechanical properties of plastics. This standard determines yield strain, stress at break, modulus of elasticity, elongation, yield strength, and tensile strength.

Polyethylene pipe standards:

ISO 4427 - A standard establishing requirements for polyethylene piping systems for water supply, industrial water transportation, and pressure sewerage. The standard establishes marking requirements, mechanical testing, service life, internal pressure testing, raw material and geometry requirements, nominal diameters, working pressure, and application.

ISO 4437 is a standard defining requirements for polyethylene pipes, valves, fittings, and connections used for the transportation of natural gas and other gaseous fuels. The standard covers marking, requirements for metallic components and seals, pipe materials, crack resistance testing, appearance requirements, working pressure, diameters, and operating conditions.

GOST 18599-2001 - Technical conditions for polyethylene pressure pipes. The standard specifies marking, transportation, storage, quality control, internal pressure testing, mechanical properties, appearance, delivery form, size range, materials, and pipe types.

Polyethylene welding rod standards:

DVS 2207-11 - Hot gas welding of thermoplastics. This standard controls: uniformity of fusion, absence of material overheating, porosity, and weld strength. Applications: repair of HDPE and LDPE products, chemical equipment manufacturing, air duct production, tank manufacturing, and polyethylene sheet welding.

DVS 2203-2 - Welding consumables for thermoplastics. This standard defines requirements for welding rods made of polyethylene and other thermoplastics. It regulates material marking, dimensional tolerances, conformity with the base polymer, diameter uniformity, freedom from contamination, and material homogeneity.

DVS 2202-1 - Identification of thermoplastics for welding. This standard is used to select the correct welding rod. It defines thermoplastic classification, raw material identification, material compatibility, and polyethylene marking.

Polyethylene sheet standards:

ISO 1872 - standard defining a classification system for polyethylene intended for extrusion and forming. It provides standardized terminology, material testing methods, and property requirements to facilitate quality control and comparisons between manufacturers and users.

ISO 1183 - standard specifies methods for determining the density of non-cellular plastics. This document is used for quality control and material testing to compare the composition, degree of filling, and purity of plastics.

GOST 16338-85 - standard specifies technical requirements for low-density polyethylene used for the manufacture of sheets, film materials, and pipes. This document defines classification, quality indicators, test methods, marking rules, strength, and impurity content.

Polyethylene rod standards:

ISO 1183 - standard specifies methods for determining the density of plastics. This document is used for material quality control, homogeneity testing, and comparison of polymer compositions in granules, sheets, or products. The results of this standard are used for: comparing polymers with different compositions or degrees of filling, control conformity of materials to technical requirements in mechanical engineering, packaging, and electronics, and verification of the stability of plastics production.

ISO 527 is a standard defining tensile testing methods for plastics. The document specifies experimental procedures, sample preparation rules, and the calculation of mechanical properties such as elongation at break, modulus of elasticity, and strength. It is widely used in the development of polymers, composites, and plastic products to confirm compliance with international requirements, control quality, and compare materials.
