Vinnitsa stainless steel sheet 08X18H10/12X18H10T (AISI304, AISI321), 20X13/40X13 (AISI430, AISI 420) (Metallobaza)
Characteristics of stainless steel sheet
The name "stainless sheet" unites a whole class of rolled metal products, which includes many modifications. Stainless steel sheet is the main product of stainless steel flat-rolled metal products, differing in geometry and thickness, rolling (manufacturing) method, surface treatment methods and a number of other characteristics.
STAINLESS STAINLESS SHEET
Stainless steel sheet manufacturing methods
According to the production method, stainless steel sheets are divided into hot-rolled and cold-rolled. In the manufacture of a hot-rolled variety of sheet, carbon steel is subjected to hot rolling. Cold rolled steel coils produce cold-rolled sheets with a smooth, corrugated or corrugated surface.
Depending on the type of surface treatment, stainless steel sheet has three main modifications:
Matte;
Sanded;
Mirror;
Varieties of stainless steel
This stainless steel can also have various modifications in a number of other parameters. Its main technical characteristics include:
Steel grade. Stainless steel sheet is made of chromium-nickel steel with the addition of other elements: titanium, manganese, silicon, etc. The degree of resistance of the sheet to corrosion depends on the percentage of chromium, and the addition of some alloying elements increases the resistance of steel.
Sheet thickness. Depending on this parameter, rolled products are divided into thin and thick sheets.
Density. According to the nature of the density of steel, normal, high, extra high and improved types of steel sheet are distinguished.
Edge processing. The edge of a stainless steel sheet can be edged or unedged.
Manufacturing precision. Accuracy can be normal or high.
Advantages of stainless steel
The main advantage of stainless steel sheet is its corrosion resistance and high strength. There are also heat-resistant and resistant to aggressive environment varieties of rolled products. Accordingly, these products have a long service life in almost any conditions. The stainless steel sheet looks aesthetically pleasing, it is convenient to weld, process and mold it.
The use of stainless steel
Stainless steel sheets are used in almost all industries: construction, mechanical engineering, shipbuilding, medicine, chemical and food industries. Thus, thick-plate rolled products are used for the production of boilers and combustion chambers, corrugated rolled products are used for the manufacture of metal structures, and pots and other kitchen utensils are made from sheets of the ferritic category. Decorative stainless steel sheets with a variety of surface textures are actively used in facade decoration and in the implementation of original architectural solutions.
12X17 (AISI 430). Can be used at temperatures up to 150 o C, has magnetic properties. Welding methods - argon-arc and electric arc. Spheres of application: mechanical engineering, trade equipment, production of decorative products.
12X18H10T (AISI 321). Can be used at temperatures up to 800 o C, not magnetized, welded by any method. Resistant to aggressive environments and oxidation in air. Scope of application: building welded structures.
20X23H18 (AISI 310S). Can be used at temperatures up to 1500 o C, not magnetized, welded by any method. Applications: furnace equipment.
10X17H13M2T (AISI 316Ti). Can be used at temperatures up to 300 o C, not magnetized, welded by electric arc and gas-electric methods. Resistant to aggressive environments. Applications: shipbuilding, chemical industry.
It is worth noting the main advantages that a stainless steel sheet has over other materials:
• Rigidity and strength due to the presence of low-alloy and low-carbon stainless steel;
• Anti-corrosion resistance due to the presence of aluminum and nickel in the top layer;
• High flexibility to produce a wide variety of shapes.
Stainless steel sheet has three main types of surface:
• Matte surface of stainless steel sheet;
• Polished surface;
• Mirror surface.
There are a number of other characteristics of a stainless steel sheet, according to which the main parameters are determined:
• Thickness of a sheet nerzh. From this parameter, rolled products are divided into thin-sheet and thick-sheet steel;
• Steel grade. It is made of chromium-nickel steel with the addition of other elements: titanium, manganese, silicon. The degree of resistance of the stainless steel sheet to corrosion depends on the percentage of chromium, and the addition of some alloying elements increases the resistance of steel;
•steel density. By the nature of the density of steel, normal, high, extra high and improved types of steel sheet are distinguished;
• Edge processing. The edge can be edged or unedged;
• Accuracy of stainless steel sheet manufacturing. It may be normal or elevated.
It is possible to highlight the advantages of the technical characteristics of a stainless steel sheet:
Long service life;
• High weight/strength ratio;
• Resistance to aggressive environments;
• Resistance to high temperatures;
• Resistant to wet environments.
Stainless steel sheets have the best aesthetic appearance, which is preserved for a long time - this is the main characteristic of a stainless steel sheet among other metal products when choosing a buyer. Stainless steel sheet today is in great demand in the metal-roll market, as it has been widely used in various fields of production.
Stainless steel sheets are of great use in outdoor advertising and construction. Matte cold-rolled stainless steel sheet has become very popular as a finishing material. Stainless steel sheet with a polished surface is often used for interior decoration, roof cladding and external facades. Sheet stainless steel of this type can be used for the manufacture of household appliances, equipment in the food and chemical industries, mechanical engineering. Load-bearing structures are often made from it. Hot-rolled sheets made of heat-resistant stainless steel are indispensable for frames for transport and storage purposes.
Stainless steel sheet with embossed coating is in demand for flooring in various premises: offices, elevator cabins, restaurants, and so on. The silver color of stainless steel is a symbol of high-tech design. The new progressive oxidation method allows this metal not to change its color. Today, stainless steel sheet processing technologies have been developed, thanks to which the choice of such products has become much wider, multi-colored metal stainless steel sheets with a large number of corrugated elements have appeared on the market. It is used for decorating discotheques, offices, cafes, restaurants, pubs, metro stations and even elevator cabins. Combining stainless steel with wood, glass, ceramic or even stone makes it possible to create beautiful, elegant pieces of art.
A distinctive feature of a stainless steel sheet is the simultaneous execution of a decorating and protective function. In addition to excellent appearance, it is resistant to mechanical damage, it is also resistant to precipitation and other negative factors. The ability to resist corrosion is important when choosing a material. The stainless steel sheet is painted by the electrochemical method, the applied film is very durable, which makes the service life of the material unlimited.
