Twill 3K carbon fabric, 200g/m2, 1000mm is a modern composite material made from carbon fibers woven into a durable structure. It is characterized by high strength and low weight, and is resistant to temperature fluctuations and corrosion. These properties make carbon fiber fabric popular in aircraft construction, sports equipment, and automotive manufacturing. The material has a long service life, does not stretch, and maintains its shape well. In addition to its technical advantages, carbon fiber is also valued for its attractive appearance, making it frequently used in tuning and design.
The main thing
View by manufacturing method
First, carbon fiber is produced. This is done using a raw material—most often polyacrylonitrile. Its filaments are drawn and stabilized by heating in air, then carbonized in ovens at high temperatures without oxygen. This removes almost all foreign elements, leaving behind strong carbon fibers. Next, the fibers are combined into threads and woven on specialized weaving machines. Depending on the weaving method, different types of carbon fabric are produced, each with different strength, flexibility, and appearance. In the final stage, the fabric may be further processed to improve adhesion to resins and enhance its performance properties.
Chemical composition
Carbon fiber fabric is chemically composed almost entirely of carbon (C). The fiber content typically ranges from 90% to 99% carbon, depending on the production technology. The base material is carbon fibers, which are produced from organic polymers. During heat treatment, hydrogen, oxygen, and nitrogen are removed from the source material, and the carbon atoms are arranged into a crystal-like structure similar to graphite. The fabric itself may also contain trace amounts of other elements (nitrogen, oxygen) and surface coatings that improve adhesion to polymer resins.
Type by purpose
In aviation and astronautics, carbon fiber is used to manufacture aircraft, helicopter, and spacecraft components, where weight reduction without sacrificing strength is essential. In the automotive industry, carbon fiber is used in body panels, interior parts, and sports car tuning. In construction and repair, the material is used to reinforce beams, columns, and ceilings. In the sports industry, it is used to make bicycle frames, skis, hockey sticks, rackets, and equipment. Carbon fiber is also in demand in shipbuilding, medicine (prosthetics, orthoses), and industrial design due to its modern appearance.
