First, a mixture of synthetic fibers, rubbers, mineral fillers, and processing additives is prepared. The components are then thoroughly mixed until a homogeneous mass is obtained. The resulting mixture is fed to a calendering machine. The material is rolled into a sheet of the required thickness and then compacted under high pressure. The sheets undergo heat treatment—vulcanization—during which the rubbers polymerize. The finished sheets are cut to standard sizes and tested for density, strength, and tightness.

Chemical composition

Main components: synthetic fibers, which include cellulose, aramid or mineral fibers (10–25%), rubbers (10–30%), NBR, SBR, EPDM, mineral fillers (40–70%), which include talc, micromica, kaolin, barite, graphite and technological additives (1–5%).

Type by purpose

Non-asbestos gasket material is used for sealing hot water, steam, oils, and gas, in flanged joints, and in chemical and petrochemical pipelines. It is used where reliable sealing and resistance to pressure, vibration, oils, gases, and chemical environments are required. It has become the primary alternative to asbestos gaskets due to its safety and high operational durability. Non-asbestos material ensures long-lasting sealing and safe equipment operation.
